Renowned Comox Valley singer/songwriter, artist, poet and author, Mary Murphy, has expanded her repertoire, for the benefit of the community at large.
Murphy is delving into the industry of instructional/educational videos. Her series of free videos will cover various issues fledgling writers may come across.
The first video, released on March 13, covered procrastination.
“The… very beginning of the very first episode is all about procrastination, because that is one of the biggest blocks to conquer. So the first part is an exercise to get through procrastination,” she said.

The second week of Mary Murphy’s ‘Gift Of Words’ instructional videos is now live.
This session is Part 1 of ‘Character Development.’
In this video, Murphy will offer advice on creating characters and discuss ways to expand a character’s personality.
She will also have a quick-fire round exercise to help create a character and give participants an example of how she corrected her own misstep in character development.
The running time for this video is 16:12, which includes a ‘bonus segment’ at the end.
