A connection with the natural rhythms of the Earth is reflected in the paintings of Larissa McLean and Sofie Skapski.

Both life-long artists and residents of Courtenay, their art reflects their shared background in horticulture and an abiding love of the natural world, which they translate into evocative works of art.

McLean’s expressionist acrylic paintings and Skapski’s highly textured oil and cold wax works are on show together in a display of new works, set in the tranquil beauty of the Anderton Therapeutic Gardens.

Both artists will be on-site for the entire show, demonstrating their work and sharing their process. In addition to original canvases, art cards, prints and smaller works will also be available.

Entrance is free, with a suggested donation to help fund the volunteer efforts of maintaining this beautiful garden space for all to enjoy.

Come see exciting new works this Friday, Aug. 6 and Saturday, Aug. 7, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Gardens on Anderton are located at 2012 Anderton Road in Comox.
