VIREO School of Performing Arts is proud to highlight this year’s Competitive Stageteam.
The dancers are determined and their love of dance has clearly shone brightly this year. The dancers have been performing and competing since January.
Their first showcase on Jan. 28 at the Old Church Theatre was the perfect location to show their friends and families what they have been working so diligently towards. Since then, they have traveled to the States and the mainland to compete.
They have also completed a regional competition and look forward to competing nationally over the July long weekend following their year end Showcase at the Sid Williams Theatre on June 16 and 17. We invite you to purchase tickets at the Sid to enjoy and support our hard-working youth.
This spectacular evening of dance features the award-winning competitive team as well as dancers of all ages with special guests, the Dolyna Ukrainian Dancers.
This year’s Competitive team members include: Elise Forth, Chai Sullivan, Skylar Dutrisac, Elizabeth McGregor-Lorimer and Ruby Hanson. As well, Merren deBellefeuille and Mclaren Forth have competitive pieces that went to regionals and will compete at nationals as well.
The NUVO Dance Convention - Vancouver BC from September 31-October 1 had the dancers taking classes of all genres taught by world-renowned professionals including Emmy winning choreographer Travis Wall (SYTYCD), Stacey Tookey, Ray Leeper and more.
The Dupree Dance Competition and Convention - Seattle WA: February 17-19 gave the dancers their first opportunity to thrive. They competed and took classes from industry professionals all weekend long. This competition and convention offers such motivation for everyone. It’s exhilarating and everyone leaves smiling.
