The Comox Community Centre staff are gearing up to celebrate Move for Health Day on May 10, with some complimentary try-it classes both at the centre and Filberg Park.

The community is encouraged to share their health routines leading up to the event for a chance to win exciting prizes. Visit the Comox Community Centre to contribute to a motivational board by pinning notes showcasing your favourite activities and daily rituals that promote movement and overall wellness.

Entries on the board will automatically be entered into a draw for various ‘keep active’ prizes.

The schedule for the try-it classes on May 10, is as follows: Spin Core & Pelvic Floor with Laurel 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. - Fitness Annex. Twenty-five minutes of spin followed by 20 minutes of postpartum safe core and pelvic floor work and stretching.

Intro Pilates with Glenny from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. - Room C. Pilates is a low-impact workout that is effective at strengthening, lengthening and toning the muscles through repetitive and controlled movements.

Gwen’s Yoga Strength and Core 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. - MP Hall. It is a fun combination of strength and core made even better with yoga.

Outdoor Circuit Workout with Vicky 4:30 from 5:30 p.m. - Filberg Stage. Try this outdoor, total body, no equipment workout at the beautiful Filberg Park.
