Residents of the Town of Comox are invited to share their ideas for the future of parks and trails.

Ideas received will help shape the Comox’s first Parks and Trails Master Plan, guiding how the town improves its parks and trails over the next decade and beyond.

“As Comox continues to grow, it’s important we consider community needs, emerging trends, and opportunities to provide high-quality parks, active outdoor recreation and trail experiences for our residents to enjoy,” said Comox Mayor Nicole Minions.

The initial phase of engagement is focused on gathering ideas from the community, including how residents use Comox parks and trails today and their ideas for an inclusive and sustainable future network. The initial input will inform the draft directions to be explored in phase 2 of the process planned for later this summer.

Throughout the next month, residents can share their input by dropping in at the open house on April 11, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at d’Esterre Seniors’ Centre or watch for pop-up events in parks and community places throughout April.

For a listing of all the events, a community survey and a community mapping activity, visit engagecomoxvalley.ca/comoxparks. To support the engagement efforts, the town will also be engaging with K’ómoks First Nation and local interest groups.
