Deat Boats Disposal Society members are making a Comox valley run, clearing the sea and shores of as many derelict boats as they can find, and they are encouraging the public to reach out.

The workers were in the Comox area earlier on this week and started working their way south on Wednesday, toward Deep Bay.

They are working with Cory Frank, Guardian Watchmen manager, K’ómoks Guardian Watchmen.

“(We are) meeting with Rob Zielinski, Hornby Island Diving, going by vessel to inspect shoreline, Baynes Sound, Denman, Hornby, Lasquite Islands and surrounding islands on the hunt for dead boats through till Sunday,” said John Roe, of the Dead Boat Disposal Society. “We will also be back at a later date.

“We would like the public to know we are in the area, we do a lot of drone work and all collected information is kept confidential, If someone has a vessel that is in the water and has reached the end of life we encourage them to reach out to us reportdeadboat@gmail.com and or 250-538-2120.
