Comox Valley residents can connect with the Okanagan more easily this summer with direct flights to and from Kelowna beginning in June from the Comox Valley Airport (YQQ).

Pacific Coastal Airlines is introducing a new route to enhance regional connectivity and to provide travellers with options within British Columbia.

Operating Sunday to Friday, the inaugural flight is scheduled for June 25 and will be serviced by a Beechcraft 1900 aircraft.

The flight schedule is set to leave Kelowna (YLW) at 8:45 a.m. and arrive at YQQ at 9:55. The flight from YQQ to YLW is set to depart at 10:20 and arrive at 11:30 a.m.

“Our residents love to travel and an Okanagan connection has been in high demand,” said Mike Atikins, CEO of the Comox Valley Airport Commission. “With quick and convenient service six days a week, we’re eager to show off the nature and culture of the Comox Valley and be the perfect gateway to Vancouver Island for travellers from B.C.’s Interior. Our partnership with Pacific Coastal Airlines has been very successful and we couldn’t be happier to assist them to expand service to the Comox Valley Airport.”

Jonathan Richardson, vice-president of customer and commercial at Pacific Coastal Airlines added the company is building on the success of their non-stop flights from Kelowna to Victoria and Nanaimo.

YQQ has partnered with Pacific Coastal Airlines for the past 24 years. Passengers can now book their flights for the Comox - Kelowna route through the Pacific Coastal Airlines’ website, by contacting the call centre at 1-800-663-2872, or by contacting their preferred travel agent.
