Alexis Irelyn
November 20th 2008 – March 12th 2009
We are devastated to announce the passing of our beautiful baby girl Alexis (Ali). Ali passed away peacefully within the gardens of Canuck Place and is now the angel with the biggest wings in Heaven.
Ali was born 9 weeks premature at BC Womens Hospital and spent the next three and a half months within the NICU at BC Childrens. On top of being premature Ali had other complications that made it hard for her to breathe properly; the doctors tried so hard to find a cure but in the end Ali had other plans and we had to accept the fact that she would only be here for a short time.
A week before turning 4 months old Ali was sent to Canuck Place where she passed away happy, with the sun on her face and sitting on her mommy’s lap.
Ali touched so many hearts in the short amount of time she was with us, you couldn’t help but fall in love; she was a silly, happy, beautiful baby who could tell you a million things just by looking into her eyes. She had a beautiful old soul.
Ali has left behind her mommy and daddy: Chelsea & Jesse Pendak; her grandparents: Cheri & Glen Robinson, Gladys & Joe Pendak; Great Grandmas: Jean Thomas & Elizabeth Pendak and Uncles Luke & Cameron, Aunty Robyn and countless great aunts, uncles and cousins.
We can’t thank enough the staff at BC Childrens hospital; especially Dr. John Smyth and Ali’s main primary nurse Amy Gubb. We also want to thank the staff at Canuck place for making Ali’s last days so wonderful.
We are forever grateful for the amount of support this community has shown us in this trying time. We will never forget your kindness.
A private memorial will be taking place at a further date.
