HARRISON

Annabelle Irene

June 8, 1918

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Harrison; our mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.

Lovingly remembered by Phil (Linda) Harrison, Lynne (Bob) Yaskiw; grandchildren: Michael (Lisa), Kari, Steven and Kelly; great-grandchildren: Emilie and Kaidyn; brothers: Jim (Maxine and Mel (Anne) Marshall.

She is predeceased by her husband Gordon and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mom was born in Neutral Hills, Alberta, the oldest of 3 sisters and 4 brothers. As a young child, she overcame polio and with that determination, strength, independence and a caring soul, she left the good life on the farm to work at Jasper Lodge then onto Harrison Hot Springs. In 1942 she joined the Army, marrying Gordon Harrison in 1946, on his return from the war overseas. They settled in Royston for many years, where Mom was very dedicated to the community as a long time member of the Royston Community Club.

Family and friends were of utmost importance to her. She enjoyed walking, visiting, card games, crossword puzzles, gardening, and the occasional camping trip and casino road trip. She was a creative perfectionist at needlework, knitting and sewing. Traveling was her favorite adventure, especially across Canada and New Zealand/Australia. She made many trips around the province visiting family.

Private family arrangements have been entrusted to Comox Valley Funeral Home. A Celebration of Mom's life will be held June 8th, 12 noon, at the Royston Community Hall.

A special thank you to the "family" of staff at Laurel Lodge for their wonderful care of our Mom.
