Boyes, Anne Louise
(nee Messinger)
Born in Vancouver B.C. May 26, 1924. Passed away in Courtenay B.C. November 11, 2009, aged 85 years. Survived by her daughter Susan Grout: her son David (Judy Mclaren) Boyes, and granddaughter Tiare Boyes of Courtenay; grandsons Matthew (Erika) Grout, Angus (Erin) Grout and great-granddaughter Morgan Grout of Courtenay; sister Dorothy Toby of West Vancouver: ex-husband David A. Boyes, and many nieces and nephews. Louise or ‘Lou’ attended UBC and VGH school of nursing, obtaining her RN in 1946.
She married David A. Boyes in 1949, and lived in West Vancouver until 2006, moving to the Comox Valley to be near her children and grandchildren, who were with her to the end. Much loved and respected by all who knew her and her unflagging commitment to her family and community, Louise set us all an example of service to aspire to.
Her family will host gatherings in her honor and memory at 1:00PM, November 19 at St. Stephens Anglican church, 885, 22 nd St. in West Vancouver, and a week later, November 26 at 2:30 PM, at Comox Valley Seniors Village, 4640 Headquarters Rd. in Courtenay. Louise wished that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the BC Cancer Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society
