Aged 80, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, November 23rd, 2003. Predeceased by his parents and sisters Georgina and Dorothy, Art is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 60 years, Agnes, “Bubs”; daughters Dawn Power (Geoff) of Salmon Arm, Robyn Dale Dyck of Courtenay, Debbie McVean (Brian) of Surrey and Amber Robinson of Cumberland; grandchildren Sean, Kelly, Adam, Lacey and Brianne; great-grandchildren Dannica and Christina; sister Ivy Surcon and brother Walter Abbott, as well as many nieces, nephews, and his special companion and friend, “Duffy”. He worked for the CNR for 30 years, retiring to Union Bay in 1979. Art was a master carpenter, an avid gardener, who was extremely proud of his water garden. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who above all, loved spending time with his family.
