Beatrice Margaret Gark (nee: Halliday) born on August 28, 1921 in Comox, B.C. passed away on June 1, 2006 at the age of 84 in Campbell River, B.C. Predeceased by her husband Dave Gark in 1973, parents Reg and Frances, brother James, sister Elizabeth and stepdaughter June. She will be lovingly missed by her sons: Michael Kelly, Brian (Darlene) Kelly, David (Jayne) Kelly; stepchildren: David Gark, Doreen Dawson and Shirley Beauchamp; siblings: Alan (Carol) Halliday, Mary (Ken) Richardson and Gordon Halliday. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren: Debbie (Pete) Buitendyk, David (Sandy) Kelly; and great-grandchildren: Michael and Joshua Buitendyk, Keegan and Kayden Kelly; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Bea will remember her as a great storyteller. We will always recall the extraordinary tales about her years growing up on the family farm in Kingcome Inlet. She was a true pioneer who could take on anything that life sent her way. We will miss her strong spirit, sharp wit and sense of humor. Her’s was a life truly lived, and to the multitudes of people she touched — she will be remembered forever.
