1916 — 2005
Elsie Katovcic was born on July 7th, 1916 on a farm in Leslieville, Alberta and passed away on December 6th, 2005 in Comox, BC at the age of 89. She left Alberta as a young girl and moved to the Harewood District of Nanaimo where she grew up. It was there that she met and married her husband Nick and had two sons, Rudy and Steve. In 1943 she became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and moved to Union Bay with her husband and two young sons, where she resided most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband in 1970. Elsie will be lovingly missed by her family and numerous friends. We will always remember her for her fun sense of humour, her love of photography, gardening, knitting and nature.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 17th at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1581 Dingwall Road with Ron Dancer officiating. Following the service, there will be a tea held at the Union Bay Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses or to the charity of your choice.
