Buck passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC on the 01 of June 2006 after a long uphill battle with diabetes. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; stepchildren: Ken and Christine and 5 step-grandchildren; sisters: Barbara Robertson, Patricia Goble, Janice (Patrick) McKay and extended family members. His father, Wilfred M. Robertson in 1985 and his mother Florence Aileen Robertson in 1987, as well as his brother-in-law, Ben Goble predeceased him. He was born in Vernon, B.C. and shortly thereafter the family moved to Ocean Falls, BC. Buck wanted to see the world so he joined the Royal Canadian Navy. His chosen profession was Naval Air as an AESO (Observers Mate). He retired from the Navy as a CP02 in 1983 to pursue a second career in the civilian workforce as a cabinet maker and then the City of Courtenay as a guard for the RCMP until he retired in 2002 for medical reasons. Buck was a member of the Courtenay Legion and CNAG, he enjoyed the outdoors (hunting and fishing) and was a past member of the Rod and Gun Club.

A Celebration of Buck’s life (Poppy Service) will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 17, 367 Cliffe Ave., Courtenay, BC on Thursday, 08 June at 14:00 hours (2PM).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 522 University Ave., Suite 1400, Toronto, ON, M5G 2R5 or a charity of your choice.
