In Loving Memory ~

Lorrie passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at North Island Hospital Comox Valley.

She is survived by her parents, Gordon & Betty McLellan, big brother Gordy McLellan, friend and ex-husband Lorenzo Giomo and their two devoted daughters, Rheann (Kyle) & Monica. As well as countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lorrie grew up in Fanny Bay and started working for the family business at a young age. After graduating high school, she went on to college in Nanaimo and got her diploma to become a LPN.

After that, she returned to the Comox Valley where she started work at Glacier View Lodge. During that time, she married and started a family.

Lorrie had a quick wit and a fierce sense of humor. She never shied away from a good (dirty) joke and always had a story to tell. She was not shy to tell you her opinion, to problem solve with you or lend her shoulder to cry on.

Lorrie was compassionate, caring and always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. She was simply the best.

She was strong, a fighter, having survived a brain tumor and subsequent treatment in 2001. She was in the 5th percentile of patients and went on to live 23 more glorious years earthside. Her family and friends miss her terribly but take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace.

We would like to thank the team of nurses and physicians at the North Island Comox Valley Hospital. A special thank you to her family practitioner, Dr. J Reggler, for his kindness and great care over the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

We ask that in lieu of flowers donations in her memory be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
