La FONTAINE/HILL - Marian Regina (nee: Burd) - of West Vancouver, B.C. passed away at the Evergreen Nursing Home on November 16th, 2008 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Eugene La Fontaine (1948), and Reginald Hill (2001). Loving mother of Jacqueline (Ron) Granholm, of West Vancouver, Barbara (Stan) of Kingston, of Port Alberni, and Ted (Agnes) La Fontaine, of Thornton, Ontario. Marian is survived by her brother Bert Burd of Campbell River, B.C., and sister Marjorie (Nels) Issacson of Lindsay, Ontario. She is predeceased by sisters Cathy Entner of Campbell River, and Jean Thompson of Sault St. Marie, Ontario. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Les, Greg and Richard Granholm; Theresa, Ted and David Kingston; Aaron, Allen and Wendy La Fontaine; as well as fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Marian’s wishes she was cremated and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
A Memorial Service will be held on the 21st of November 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Comox Valley Funeral Home, located at 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, B.C. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
