For the past 10 weeks dedicated cyclists have sweated through Comox Valley terrain, smoke filled skies and high temperatures to prepare for the fourth annual Petite Fondo.

The event is one of several Shelter Foundation fundraisers hosted by Royal LePage In The Comox Valley with all proceeds being paid forward to local charities. This year the goal is to raise $12,500 in support of the Lilli House.

“Every year the Lilli House provides support to women and children,” Val Wright of Royal LePage said. “The effort, excitement and logistics that go into this event is overwhelming.”

On Sunday, Sept. 10 an estimated 200 riders will embark on the challenge of their choice — 44 km, 55km or 75km — stopping at water refill stations and rest stops at three of the Valley’s wineries to support the cause. At the end of the day the cyclists will have blisters and pain but they have endeavoured this trek for a fantastic cause.

The success of this event is from the continued support of local sponsors and participants throughout the Valley.
