Municipal Election

I am proud to stand as a candidate in the Oct. 20 municipal election.

Stephanie McGowan is running for election as a Comox councillor.

Darwin Matthew Dzuba, born and raised in the Comox Valley, post-secondary educated at BCIT and PVI. Holder of two Red Seal Trade tickets, 1985 CMA national champion, Motor Trial junior, licensed pilot. I have owned and operated businesses in service, retail and contracting sectors.

Insults rarely further a debate. They only muddy the answers.

After consultation with my family and friends - and with much encouragement from across our community, I have decided that I will seek another term as Mayor of your city.

Michelle Waite has been an advocate for publicly funded education for many years. She is running for Board of Education Trustee, Area B (Lazo North).

As a proud resident of Cumberland for the past four years, and a Vancouver Island resident for 22 years, I am passionate about our community, and I understand what makes our educational needs and village perspective so unique.

James Derry has resided and worked in the Comox Valley, and specifically in the Comox Valley Regional District, for almost 40 years. Originally from Manitoba, he moved to the Valley to live in a semi-rural setting with a vibrant community.

I am Jim Elliott and some of you may recognize me from my previous involvement in local politics, as well as my long career local government.
